Job Description
Reporting directly to the Production Superintendent, the Production Engineer will be responsible for providing support for the day to day operations of the Production Department. The incumbent will lead efficiency and quality improvements in manufacturing work centers and assist with the overall site quality and regulatory compliance efforts.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Investigate and complete TrackWise deviations
Generate and assist in completion of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)
Complete production Out of Specification and conduct reject investigations
Monitor key product indicator and use process data for the purposes of improving product quality and increasing yields.
Initiate and follow up on change controls for various projects and products
Follow up and drive completion of production audit action items
Initiate small projects to improve yield and/or reduce manufacturing costs
Write and revise production documents such as SOPs, batch records, cleanout procedures, compound set ups and supplements as needed or required.
Train operations personnel on new procedures/revisions.
Job Qualifications
BS in chemical engineering or related science field highly desired
Experience in manufacturing environment in similar role will be considered in lieu of BS degree, high school diploma or equivalent required
Experience and understanding of manufacturing equipment operations, chemical manufacturing beneficial
Working knowledge of computer applications within a Windows-based environment is beneficial
